Who Can Actually Own the Earth, but She Herself

Who Can Actually Own the Earth, but She Herself.

Who has the power of not having power. Again, … the same Lady of Destiny.

The Father invented karma. The Son administers karma. The Mother catches us as we fall.

We live in an Enchanted World, that hides Herself behind the Veils of Antiquity.

In a time of Great Woe, who thunders the light of Resurrection, on a world crashing and burning in its own excrement.

Still, there are sacred/secret places, for we have not been abandoned.

These loci/abodes, of new/ancient wisdom, have eight gates. We live them all, often not understanding the riches that surround us everywhere. These gates straddle the edges of the dreamtime, and all of them go Up, by going Down – into and through the forgotten Underworld of Faerie.

Waking and Sleeping

Sanity and Madness

Remembering and Forgetting

Living and Dying

Many are those folk who seek power&wealth, from a view of not-understanding. In the Enchantment, we stopped believing in the little folk, in Angels & Demons, in Powers and Principalities. Who is to own your mind’s heart?

We are now becoming free, inwardly. What is the Us that got lost to the long ago when before?

You are the answer to all the questions. Your choices rule.

What force of love binds us to the surface of the Earth, which we have, in our madness, abstractly named “gravity”?

a song from Tiger-Saucy, the last shaman

Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed” (Jn. 20:29)

… more of an old man’s dreams …

… more of an old man’s dreams …

“In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Acts: 2:17

https://thecollectiveimagination.com/shamans-law-firm/

I dream dreams and have visions. What do I do with that which comes to me, yet clearly not ultimately meant for me? Experience needs to flow through us … our “seeing” should lead to “doing”.

I tried to be an Enlightened Master, like in the cultural East. Then I tried to be an Initiated Teacher, like Steiner in the cultural Center. That robe did not fit well either. Sure, I was a path walker, but to what end? http://ipwebdev.com/hermit/fivepaths.html

In the Americas, folks can end up shamans, even if that wasn’t exactly where they thought they were headed. My latest web-gate [ https://thecollectiveimagination.com/ ] begins with these words: Welcome to the Aethereal Cave of a white-privileged, Christian, son of Montana, American citizen, shaman, and, professional heretic.”

We tend to think of shamans in connection with the Aboriginal Earth religions, many many forgotten, yet – the thing is – there is a potency, and truth to tell, all of human beings are encouraged by Her to be shamanistic in their lives. Bring rite and ritual, prayer and song, to all the littlest aspects of existence. http://ipwebdev.com/hermit/finalfrontier.html

Why? Because consciousness is everywhere, and the human being is basically the only aspect of the Creation asked/enchanted into leaving the Garden. All birds of a feather, must learn the harsh lessons of leaving the Nest. We fall, we stand, we try our wings, and learn a new Way to fly.

In my visionary studies of the life of the Spirit in America (the US of A), one question that arose in my soul was about “leadership”. What is it? We have sports heroes. Movie stars. Presidents and Senators. All can be a “leader” in certain circumstances. In answering this riddle I found myself drawn to three Coaches, … not initiates or masters … who/when I thought about what/how/why they succeeded … stood out, far above most of their contemporaries. I could not see myself as a teacher, or a master, but as a coach, … that seemed doable … seemed very American.

Still, to coach requires what background? Do we go to a school? Well, I did do that – the School of Hard Knocks & Shared Pain, which most of us share, but also a culture&time that was – if you choose it – a magical/mystical school, that I began attending in 1971, starting with almost 14 years in the San Francisco/ Berkeley/ Oakland nexus, overseen by … well, the tides of the spirit wash up odd debris on all shores …

Write, She sez, of coaches, and coaching, via three American personalities: John Wooden, Herb Brooks, and Bill Belichick.

For those who need matters to be “anthroposophical”, please keep in mind that Steiner did not expect Americans to come to Anthroposophy in the same spiritual Ways as did folk of the social-Center of the World. We – Americans – come to this naturally, according to Steiner, and have an instinct to generate something similar to Anthroposophy in Europe… yet,… not the same, or identical, but similar. Steiner also described American soul life, “wooden”, yet quite destined to evolve beyond that state. All of the above is from a lecture to the workman – 3 March 1923.

Meanwhile, today is August 2019, almost a full century later. Has anything been learned in the intervening days, hours, moments?

Sure. Just as Steiner could not do the work that later fell to such as George Adams & Friends, regarding Projective Geometry, he had to leave to others to provide the needed illumination of the American Soul, which knowledge can benefit the whole world-organism of Anthroposophia’s slowly emerging incarnation.

In the Century since Steiner, Anthroposophy – directly and indirectly – has emerged as a fundamental Spirit of Environmentalism. See, “Eco-Alchemy: Anthroposophy and the History and Future of Environmentalism”, by the American Dan McKanan, the Emerson Senior Lecturer at Harvard Divinity School, who worked for twenty years at this remarkable study of Steiner’s direct and indirect influence on the Environmental Movement.

Note the use of the word “Alchemy”, which evokes the magical and mystical, without the heavy hand of New Age spirituality. Many underground currents exist, that have yet to take the final step which is necessary for healing the “Environment”, of Her many man-caused open wounds and sores.

That Step Involves humanity eco-cognizing – scientifically – that the Earth is an abode of a Living Cosmic Being, with whom aboriginal peoples have always had an I&Thou relationship. We lost that through the enchantment of the intellect that created modern un-natural scientific materialism, but She&Fairy-friends are never been gone, just forgotten … a visit with a Mayan scribe showed me that the reason the Long Count ended when it did, was to mark – a center/fulcrum/axis borne/born in Her re-emergence from the veils of time.

There are tasks involved – regarding the future – that are not being accomplish, in part because the Aristotelians ignore the Platonists, the latter wearing party hats, and wanting to dance drunkenly – i.e. pagan worshipers of the Mother.

The crowning act is to be brave enough to teach that the Planet is a Living Being, and that the ancient Earth Religions, with their shamanistic/mystical/magical Ways, have the rocket fuel to lead the world into seeing that Everything around/within us is living, conscious and possessed of an interior life which we are yet to obtain. We left the Garden, and She has waited for Steiner to bring science to the way of knowledge of spirit, from which then materialism’s vain burning of the world to ash, can be defeated in the playing fields of science itself.

The battle for humanity’s future is not in the political realm – which is mostly just karmic drama – but rather in our minds – the Arts of Culture. We need to remember that She is Real, and Here Now (never left). In this remembering (spirit recollection), lives the gates to the future. If a corporation can be a person, than certainly a Planet can be a Person. Since that is the act of the mind’s heart, neither wealth or power will be able to drive this good-truth away.

So, back to Coaches and Coaching …

John Wooden coached the UCLA Bruins to winning ten NCAA national championships in 12 years, which included a run of seven in a row. He demanded a lot of discipline, starting each first day, of each new season, by making sure – down to the finest details – you knew how to put on your socks and tie your basketball shoes so as to not ruin your feet with blisters.

Practices were orderly, and included complex passing and dribbling routines done over and over and over again, … before practicing shooting, and game play. Fundamentals first. The effect on the player is that he learns to do running, dribbling, and, passing, with precision, while the core of his mind’s heart is on the total game play as it unfolds.

Wooden stunned his competition by using the full court press defense from the beginning. Usually everyone sort of trots down the court after a basket, while offensive and defensive roles start to set up near the other basket. Wooden made a resistance-free trot nearly impossible.

Sure, Wooden had talented players, but we all know if coach doesn’t do his part, the “team” would be aimless. He had also played at the college level.

So, from him we get discipline, practice practice practice, and playing “all in” – relentlessly – from the beginning.

Herb Brooks did something so remarkable, that a movie was made about it: “Miracle on Ice”. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miracle_on_Ice

The Winter Olympics in 1980, in the sport of hockey, allowed professional hockey players to be on teams, not just amateurs. The Russian professional teams were dominant, world-wide. The Americans were college players, who had never been on the same team. Hockey is very much a team sport, so the challenge was to get young men, who have been fierce competitors, to play with each other. This is kind of like herding cats, except the cats are purebred tigers&sharks.

Anyway, … this coach got these late adolescent competitors to become a team, so good at that, that they won the gold medal, in the semifinals defeating the dreaded Russians – a feat no one, but Brooks expected to happen. What did he do?

He believed, and taught them to believe – nothing is impossible.

Bill Belichick took on … “the head coaching job for the New England Patriots on January 27, 2000. Since then, he has led the Patriots to 16 AFC East division titles, 13 appearances in the AFC Championship Game, and nine Super Bowl appearances, with a record six wins. Belichick has won eight Super Bowl titles in total from his combined time as an assistant and head coach.” Wikipedia

There is a tendency, partly humorous, but still apt in its own way, for the Press to see Belichick as a kind of enigmatic Buddha. Why speak, when the question is silly, and already asked. Head nods are considered a lot. He’s more likely to use one or two words, when another coach would give a speech.

There is – at work here – a Way, known of throughout the NFL, and still Bill&Tom Brady model this at another level, which has made for jealousy, and accusations of cheating. A lot of sore losers out there.

Even a catch phrase: “Do your job”. Players are taught to focus on what is in front of them, and leave what is outside – in the hands of teammates, to trusting/encouraging their own playful attentions. Belichick’s coaching is everywhere imitated, even at the college level. I once observed – on TV – a college team in a championship game, gather in circles within circles, holding on to each other and jumping up and down, chanting over and over, “Do your job”.

The Patriot-system, as it were – and they do talk about their “culture” – is about helping the individual players achieve their potentials. For example, Julian Edelman was a quarterback in high school and college. He has become one of most dangerous pass receivers in the game, in part because of his selfless personal dedication. In the last Super Bowl, LIII, which the Patriots won, Edelman was named MVP, most valuable player, in that game … because he caught ten passes for 141 yards.

His attention skills are impeccable: here is a pass catch from Super Bowl LI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4SiUNdkIwzQ&t=31s , that contributed to the Patriots come-from-behind victory … from 25 points behind, with only six minutes left in the third quarter. Nobody has ever done that.

Belichick helps you be the best you you can be. He doesn’t make you into something else. Just the you, you want to achieve.

From Wooden, we get discipline, practice practice practice, and playing “all in” – relentlessly – from the beginning.

Through Brooks we see that he believed, and taught them to believe – nothing is impossible.

Imagine a team of such folk, plundering the arena of materialism, armed with the true and the good.

We need a generation what will master the Goethean scientists, so as to see that scientific proof already exists revealing that the Planet – our Holy Mother Earth – is Divine, and keeping a loving eye on all of us children.

I would like to connect to, and coach, young&old friends of Rudolf Steiner, as well as other environmentalists, in the game of the millennium: Rediscovering the Mother, on a path to better seeing of the Father&Son. https://thecollectiveimagination.com/shamans-law-firm/

Is it pride that makes so many anthroposophists cling to Steiner, to the near exclusion of all other wisdoms? Or fear, that if we were to walk ourselves on those paths, we might fail, so it is better just to never try.

The Platonists are here. So, supposedly, are the Aristotelians. Steiner’s view – basically – was that if those two streams did not get their collective shit together, the 3rd Millennium goes in the toilet.
If the Culmination actually occurred, civilization would receive a new impulse that would lift it to a higher stage, but if it failed then a terrible and inevitable decay would result. [paraphrase by Stephen Usher]

So that before the end of the 20th century the Platonists of Chartres must interact here on earth with the recent Aristotelians, if civilization shall not get into a complete maturity. [translation by Jostein Saether]

bits and pieces

various short groups of words, that I dropped onto Facebook, among friends

The old man put down his carving knife. He set the yet to be finished piece off to the side, and began to clean up the work space of shavings and wood dust. Then he cleaned, sharpened, and oiled this favorite tool,

While he did this, the sun pattern on the work table altered, with the moving/changing angle of the sun and clouds outside. The shape of the pattern distorted as time passed.

He then cleaned his hands, and moved to the part of his study where he wrote poetry. His mind then carved/altered the latest poem, which act itself left behind in his mind shavings and dust of a spiritual nature.

These he gathered together, and then set them afire in the coal-brazier nearest at hand in his soul, opening thereby the gate of forgetting into the dream-time, while zen-gazing at the quantum magic which accompanies all word conflagrations.

Poetry is meant to self-destruct. Prose – on the other hand – if too structured&crystallized, breaks against the iron of the reader’s own aesthetic.

This is why shamans tell stories, the metaphorical aspects meant to be nothing more than a brief summer rain to the spirit. Life gifting magic. Perishable by choice.

The world changes, often, and sometimes very fast. In such moments it is not unreasonable to seek to find a spiritual anchor with which weather the storms.

Sometimes, the world has other “ideas”, and we may on occasion find out that there is – in that moment – no spiritual anchor to be had, for the reason that Wisdom needs us to leave these fine nests of beautiful thoughts, and stumble around, alone in the darkness, applying the cutting edge of the mind’s heart to the learning stone of life … producing our own spiritual poetry.

I have mixed dominance, and no issues other than being an unrecognized genius. Write with left hand. Kick with left foot. Throw with right hand. Played tennis and basket ball as a right-handed person. In college the tennis coach said I didn’t do the strokes right (I was self taught). My left side has been the source/locus of “breakage”, such as broken left ankle in 6th grade, Dislocated left shoulder in college. Being working poor, I had little dental care, so instead of root canals, I had the molars pulled, mostly on the left side. I’m a leftist politically, and for appearances sake, we’ll leave aside which hands do more intimate excursions.

Sorry for the mental imagine, but these kinds of articles quoting Steiner as an authority make me want to act out. Throw stuff. Get up from my chair and dance widdershins. “… in a direction contrary to the sun’s course, considered as unlucky; counterclockwise. My one Wicca visit, had me dancing naked … counterclockwise.

Then there is square dancing, line dancing, salsa, …. did the twirling dervishes have a favorite direction?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hkuimX1bh6g Ecstasy through counter-clockwise movement.

Periodically, on Anthroposophical/Rudolf Steiner love nest/lists, I raise this question in many different ways: Of what use are his words and writings, if they are offered as a final view on anything? If they are – that truth-trustworthy, than for what purpose have the gods&goddesses given us the capacity for thinking.

The literature of his students is extraordinary. But do we discuss the Goethean scientists’ works? Nope. We like reading Steiner, endlessly Steiner. Plus, mostly we want to use Steiner terminology to give us powerful labels to apply to aspects of contemporary reality, throwing words around (such as: Luciferic, Ahrimanic, Asuras, Sorat), with little care for precision and exactness in thought.

Which excess of carelessness, and the inability to understand “judge not”, is a win for the very bad guys anthros love to hate.

Until the various Admins kick me off these lists, I’m here for the duration. I know stuff Steiner didn’t know (as do a lot of us). Yet, here where a community of wise-seeming folk ply their trades in Steiner-quotes, the heretic has a home. A thorny rose has found just the fertilizer&soil needed.

This is in-your-Facebook, in cyberspace. Steiner wanted us to learn to think for ourselves, especially given humanities needs for such new thinking. A personality that is mired in the swamp of Steiner-thought, has a problem. Me.Why? Because Michael has Bosses, and I’m with Them: Christ, the Holy Mother, and, the Burning Bush. I’m also stoned, and in the dreaming (you know, that pagan-wisdom place), daily. Steiner didn’t do magic and mysticism, but that doesn’t mean they are not viable gates to the realities of the spiritual deeps, where Mom&friends hang out.

He warned about the karma of the Aristotelians and Platonists – welcome to the party. Residents of Faerie will be fully in attendance.

Eros – fires of provocation and intoxication

The idea of there being a “new” masculinity, implies … implies what exactly? Are women dragging men – kicking and screaming – to keep up with their running ahead of us via their “new” femininity?

I’m using the “inity” way of looking at this – on purpose – to go from using a static noun/thing to something, that while still a noun can imply characteristics more like a verb. A quality on display? The word “display” needs to be handled with care as well.

Take the term: feminist, for example. A word that acquired so much confusion, there has come to seem to be several different types/classes/doctrines.

A wrestle over the meaning of terms has artistic value, in the rites of writing, unless one wants to reduce thought to bumper stickers and placards at rallies, for example: “women are assholes too”.

Next, after this writer’s contemplation of the meaning of terms – some explosive, let us take a careful look at the word: passion.

The ancient Egyptian priests knew that the human will was a manifestation of primeval elemental fire, the same fiery Will via/from which the whole of the Creation spawned itself into uncountable bits and pieces. A simple observation, each day teaches. During the Day, the Sign of One, wholeness. During the Night, the Sign of Many.

In their magic codes, which had become lost to us, there is expressed: the doctrine of the Elements, which the modern physicist considers nonsense. This ancient view was simply based on a caring and intimate Way of looking at what is right in front of us. I&Thou. We were part of a Whole. All that we are, all the Rest Shares, including an interior life invisible.

The element fire is sacred code for the force of will. The element water is code for the life of feeling. The element air is code for the order giving acts of the intellect, that reduce fire&water to form, through which then the manifested unity of all four becomes named: the element earth, or conscious experience.

The essence of the human being, in their science, was not sexual, for which “spirit” they would use the term: hermaphrodite. The fiery spirit of the human will was, in their time as well as ours, cursed to incarnate in bodies that were of a different nature than the essence of spirit&soul. Bodies of matter. Avatar bodies, in which the sexless fire-divine of the single human being, could play in the worlds generated by arts of immortals – elemental fires, producing – a not at all virtual – game of life. In this game you die, and the do-overs are only won through the afterlife hall of mirrors of how we lived our days, or so the ancient priests understood the matter.

A more modern priest/scientist of the spiritual – Rudolf Steiner – suggested that we alternate the sexuality of these avatar bodies, male in one incarnation, female in another. Reality has always been “what goes around comes around”, given that “vengeance is mine saith the Lord”, so as to help us think about whether or not we really want to be the judge and jury and executioner of another human being.

Meanwhile, down the hall, in 5B, those two elemental fires, one named Ted and the other Uncertain, have been screaming at each other again, throwing stones made of words.

Now we can consider further the examination of the nature of “passion”.

We are immortals. Born from immortals, nursed by immortals, we are on a phoenix grail mission, where fires are from the “In the Beginning …, followed with the waters of life, in the Father’s school of hard knocks, which itself is married to the Mother’s school/community of shared pain, aka civilization … ours now transforming into something new, yet …

… in these passion-creating fires&ashes we now live, faced with the trials of being embedded in matter, in order for all our elemental fires to learn. This level of change cannot be hurried. We will endure it one day, one tweet, at a time.

Mostly what we’ve learned about reality, as our modern scientific Western Civilization, is how to be skilled at death – we are very good at killing – each other, the planet etc., … so far. If we don’t I&Thou our world, a gift to us from the Divine Mystery – who in generating human freedom (the Beast from the Abyss) declared: Our children must be free to run too fast, color outside the lines, and really learn that there are consequences for everything. Apparently it is not uncommon for many folk to “not give a damn” about consequences, so our world burns in the divine fires of the Hopi’s called: “the Day of Purification”.

When I was growing up, we would have dates where we went to drive-in movies (in the ‘50’s), while the guy would try to make moves on the girl, in a forest of emotional confusion, a rite which everyone endures, unless we have decided – as a culture – to be amazed by what we are being Taught in this conflagration, tending to complete social chaos. Remember hard knocks school?

… here is how it works, if we consider the whole of it filled with divine purpose, = we are watched over with the loving justice of the Mother, who tempers the vengeance of the Father. We play the game in the Avatar physical/matter bodies, moving toward a time which Steiner predicts will arrive in a few thousand years, during which drama of the one day at a time prelude, there will arise the disappearance of fertility among women’s avatar bodies.

I’m pretty sure that means we can still like sex a lot, but maybe saving getting good at sex for a later life, not so good a bet in my view. Strike while the iron of passion is hot, and don’t screw it up with more games.

Intimacy is about eliminating games, in a world which was consciously designed for males to hunger to plant seed in any ripe female. Time to make adolescence a both-sex journey into wisdom – no feminists, no masculinity required, we all being, in the immortal words of the Captain of the Serenity, Malcolm Reynolds: “just plain folk”.

Passion is about surrender to feelings. To the ancient Greeks, this surrender was given the name Eros, which duality includes both the sensual and the erotic, together recognized as an earthly form of love. In my experience there are three other forms: Selfless human love (Agape); comradeship (Phileo); and nurturing in love (Storge).

What happens when we display our masculinity, or femininity, … our differences, before authoring the vulnerability&sharing of our common humanity? Isn’t emotional closeness of greater value than just getting your rocks off? That we can do by ourselves. Human closeness, however. We don’t do that alone. Choices have consequences, after all.

Still: the display can be provocative, and the response can be intoxication. If anything, Love is Art, which maybe needs to become celebrated once more in our religious temples. No more priests tho’. Each of us has to make their own choices, otherwise freedom is a fraud, and life a prison.

According to tradition, and even Rudolf Steiner, the folk of the elemental kingdoms have no free will. They do, however, have complicated given-natures – the tasks in which the engage require remarkable natural talents in their realization.

Many phenomena reflect the given-nature of elemental beings involved in the complicated requirements for maintaining regularity and rhythm is all living systems.

No physical phenomena appear that is not sourced in invisible to the senses beings. Applications of these “talents” requires an I & Thou relationship with a world of intelligences we imagine live out there among the stars, when in fact they are right there in your garden, your car engine, you sons broken ankle, … everywhere consciousness, and laws that govern living beings in action. By the way, the body of an elemental is only visible to someone with clairvoyant vision, while the consciousness is right there in the screen on which you are reading this.

https://thecollectiveimagination.com/…/letters-about…/

Steiner used to write/say that when matters were not right in the Society, etc., what was needed was more Anthroposophy. Or, he would phrase this same idea this way: All the daughter movements need to not forget the Mother, Anthroposophy.

A good read is Awakening to Community, which is a collection of lectures in January and February following the burning of the Goetheanum. He was very frank about what was already “off” back then, and after the situation did not improve, he sought to do the needed healing via the Christmas Conference.

That failed as well, as evidenced by the ten years after his death, during which the ladies got into fights with each other, the various national Societies took sides, and people were “excluded”.

Afterwards various leaders in Dornach lived on, pretending the Christmas Conference was some kind of miracle, that saved all the flaws. To any careful observation, this is a kind of madness – to be a spiritual scientist and think Steiner performed amazing supernatural feats.

There is false history all over the various anthroposophical endeavors, and at the same time amazing deeds of bringing into incarnation farms, and schools and all the rest, in spite of most Steiner students standing lost in an epistemological swampland.

In a Past, so long ago it haunts our Future, even the immortals wished for sleep.

Who/What/Why/Where/When, asks the old breaking news? Are we a mystery – we “human” beings?

Perhaps a temporarily embodied immortal node of conscious experience, or so held the ancients.

In a universe, which is just an inside/outside inversion of background and foreground, we began as Stars, and to Stars we will once again return.

Pause, reset the attention … listen, … do you hear the lyre? We see the lyre, – the visual maze of all our groundhog days. The lyre also shouts from television ads, and noisy freeway traffic.

We seek, as children, to turn down the auditory aspect of the song of experience, natural to our industrial civilization, as it drives itself into magnificent wreckage. When we hear the screams of metal on metal, metal on flesh, even in so common a scream as is connected to cutting our hand while making dinner.

If we only knew what “stuff” was, we might be ashamed of how we have been taught to experience it, as without soul, without an interior life such as we have.

Click-clack goes the keyboard. Swish-swish goes the digital cone from which sound comes out of my Alexa. Spend a day listing to all the little sounds. Savor their tones. Notice the song your fork and knife make as you cut and eat your food. Or the yelp of a cabinet door slammed too hard. The tinkle of pans on the stove. The rumble of a wheeled cart going by your cubical.

We have “stuff” because of the sacrifices of conscious entities. In Gurdjiff’s wonderful book: “Beelzebub’s Tales to his Grandson”, there is described a whole class of beings, who during the creation-process choose to be completely passive. Could be acted upon, but had sacrificed being able to return the favor.

In the lyre of experience is a world we have been schooled by materialism to imagine without either an interior life, or any independent will. Consider shifting your imagination into moment-to-moment gear, and just notice all that we use/see/hear, but may not yet recognize as kin. All sounds have meaning, for in essence they present just themselves. Human’s gave names such as Thor to the Lightening. But when you see and hear, on the lyre of experience, those tones are how immortals name themselves. Even the Elementals, the little folk, without which there would be nothing to see, hear, or touch

This every poet knows. The Sky names itself, and any ode, however long and well created, is only a vague chimera when set beside how the Thunder touches us, with sight and sound, and roars, and rushes of winds that tear buildings into dust.

Just consider the Sphinx. A stark testament to the impermanence of material existence. Plus, on the good side, when we die it just might really not be so dark and empty as too many fancy. Do you not return from the gentle unconsciousness of sleep? After a few too many years in the material world, we need a longer rest, and so we can dare the adventure of surrender to the “what’s next”.

We are the artists and players of the lyre of experience.

lost chances?

My question is why do Americans imitate European Ways of seeking the spirit? I was getting ready to write my book “American Anthroposophy”, I chased down all the Steiner quotes on America I could find. See below – all Steiner … http://ipwebdev.com/hermit/anthroposophy.html

“...America is the place at which races or civilizations die.” R.S. The Mission of the Folk Souls, lecture 6.

The Indians then took over with them to the West all that was great in the Atlantean culture. What was the greatest thing of all to the Indians? It was that he was still able dimly to sense something of the ancient greatness and majesty of a period which existed in the old Atlantean epoch, in which the divisions of the races had hardly begun, in which men could look up to the Sun and perceive the Spirits of Form penetrating through a sea of mist. Through an ocean of mist the Atlantean gazed up at that which to him was not divided into six or seven, but which acted together. This co-operative activity of the seven Spirits of Form was called by the Atlanteans the Great Spirit…He clung firmly to the Great Spirit of the primeval past.” R.S. Lecture 6 above.

America was discovered in order to provide a counter-balance to the Asian Great Spirit (luciferic lightness). America leads man to heaviness and materialism. (R.S. paraphrased from Lecture 2,

Inner Impulses Working in the Evolution of Mankind)”…American civilization, on account of the special organization of its people, is particularly exposed to the temptation offered by what the eagle speaks (1)….Central Europe…is particularly exposed to what is uttered by the lion (2)…Oriental civilization is preeminently exposed to what is uttered by the cow (3).”(1) “I give thee the power to create a universe in thine own head“(2) “I give thee the power to embody the universe in the radiance of the encircling air.”(3) “I give thee the power to wrest from the universe measure, number and weight.” R.S. Lecture 8, Man as a Being of Sense and Perception du Monde

If European and American civilization retain their present character, a materialistic cosmogony will cover over the Christ Event. (R.S. paraphrased from lecture 9, Man as Hieroglyph of the Universe.)

Not Steiner, me: [The antidote to this is the Christ centered cosmogony presented in my book: the Way of the Fool: the conscious development of our human character and the future* of Christianity – both to be born out of the natural union of Faith and Gnosis.]

The past brings fermentation that leads “Europe to the brink of the Abyss, which will array Asia and America against each other.” R.S. Lecture 3, The Mission of Archangel MichaelEmigration to America is greater than all other movements of peoples. (paraphrase, R.S. Lecture 4, Mystery Centers)

The Anglo-American victory over Europe in WWI will lead to a domination of European spiritual-cultural life in an external fashion. (paraphrase R.S. lecture 3, The Mysteries of Light, Space and Earth.)

The threefold social order is needed in order to overcome the influence of Anglo-American secret societies (paraphrase lecture 4 above).”…I believe that in the future my book [The Threefold Social Order] should be read in the West and in Russia, but that it has no chance of becoming effective in Germany. The West, for instance, can learn much from this book, for in a non-utopian manner it simply states how the three spheres co-exist and should interact. For the West the moment in time does not matter, for much is still to be done for the right interaction of the three currents, the spiritual life, the economic life, the political-legal life.” R.S. Threefolding as a Social Alternative. [emphasis added]

In 1924, for a time, some in America showed that stars were hollowed out spaces (paraphrase, R.S. lecture 3, The Evolution of Earth and Man and the Influence of the Stars)Following the American way of thinking, an attempt was made to extend the mechanical over human life itself. It will be an American Mystery to make use of the magnetism of the Earth, its double-ness. (paraphrase, R.S. lecture 12, The Reappearance of Christ in the Etheric.

Europeans prove, Americans affirm” R.S. lecture to workmen 3 March 1923.

When the sun is in Aquarius: “only then will the true American Civilization come.” (same lecture).

We in Europe develop Anthroposophy out of the Spirit. Over there they develop something that is a kind of wooden doll of Anthroposophy. Everything becomes materialistic.” (same lecture”

But for one who is not a fanatic, there is something similar in American culture to what is anthroposophical spiritual science in Europe. Only everything there is wooden, it is not yet alive. We can make it alive in Europe out of the spirit, those over there take it out of instinct…” (same lecture)

The time will one day come when this American woodenman, which actually everyone is still – when he begins to speak. Then he will have something to say very similar to European Anthroposophy*. One can say that we in Europe develop Anthroposophy in a spiritual way; the American develops it in a natural way.” (same lecture, emphasis added)

The American is a young materialist…So too will the American’s blatant materialism sprout a spiritual element.” (when the Sun rises in the sign of Aquarius). (same lecture)

But genuine Americanism will one day unite with Europeanism, which will have taken a more spiritual path.” (same lecture) [emphasis added].

Subterranean forces possess the American body – a geographical force, not a spiritual force. They chain man to the earth. Something from the human head streams toward magnetic and electric currents, neutralizing them – this is the human will. What overcomes these dependencies, which are part of karma, so that our inner life (if not our outward form) can come to freedom? The answer: the Mystery of Golgatha. (paraphrase of R.S. long discussion lecture 1, Anthroposophical Life Gifts.

white trash?

Another shooting. Always “WHY”, but never any real answers. Change laws is the fallback liberal position, and in itself certainly wise. But still “WHY”

I propose the following thesis:

Canaries in the social coal mine.

Many people are psychologically fragile. They break, they act out. We notice suicides. Suicide by cop is also a choice. Drug use keeps going up. Would be good to know the drugs the shooters tend to be on … mostly antidepressants has been the case, which is a secret pharmaceutical companies very much work to hide.

Our water is poisoned. Our air. Our food. Our schools. Our jobs. Lots of minor (not so many dead) shoot-outs at places of work. Rage burns and knows not where to ground itself.

Once again the political class sings its song. “We are in a lot of shit, its the other guys fault, and I’m just the person to make things right.”

Few folk, with agendas, can be trusted to offer us any wisdom, that isn’t based on self-interest.

The financial class continues to enjoy its top-dog status, gaining their earthly rewards by using human beings as consumers, workers, and cannon fodder for its endless wars.

Young people are not stupid. They get easily isolated, and the gunMan (when was the last time a woman shot up a workplace), is lost in an inner space.

Most of us could not handle having a mind on drugs that make you worse, … inner torments, with which most of us are familiar, overwhelm many. Got any addicted people in your family?

We are all walking wounded, and some very few of us just want to burn the house down. An impulse well known, yet even if we are among the not having yet broken, how do we help? Is there something we can heal or fix.

Might as well wish death didn’t exist. Maybe something more profound is going on, and perhaps we need to attend to matters more carefully&thoughtfully, before we leap to confusions.

Memories in the Dreaming

Memories in the Dreaming

In the way back long ago when before, Ort – a nascent cloud dancer, rose on the winds of the Sirus rays, and guided by the prayers of an ancient Egyptian priest, he settled into the triangle above the circle in stone, where the gentle movement of incense smoke hovered … the lyre player wooed the winds in the sanctuary into circling in and around the triangle, …

As the various flows of breeze settled into the constantly involuting chaotic form, Ort seized it from the other-side and began engaging with the priest over questions of the Book, the Teaching Book that would always be true. The priest was … subdued, one did not often speak this way with an immortal, basically as friend to friend, but this was about making art, … art both divine and human …

After their conversation, the priest sat, the acolytes moved all the extraneous ceremonial materials to the side, …. and then left the priest to his private meditations. It was high sun outside, but the long tunnel into the slowly rising pyramid allowed the priest to see the star even during the middle of the day. There it was a tiny dot in a small blue field, which allowed an eye greater sensitivity.

But all the same, in that moment the spirit of the priest left his body and followed the call of the immortal outward, away from the comforts of the Mother, and toward the Stars, the Night Teachers, left behind by the Father, in a past so distant only an immortal could touch its essence.

The movement from earth to star was instant, for it simply involved crossing the veil over the truth, and seeing as all the star folk saw, everything at the same time from the all-around everywhere.

Always a momentary shock for the priest, this change of orientation. To be in the company of Gods and Goddesses, listening to their singing. He folded his consciousness around the idea of his flute, and learned the tone sequences for which he was being trained.

Time did not past in a place that was both timeless and spaceless, but all the same when the priest re-entered his body, the sun had set, the moon was out, … it was time to bend matter to the will of song.

In the cool of the night, the singing of the people began. The priest had gone to the top of She Who is not to be Named, and began to play his material flute. The songs rose and fell, dancing was added as well as some drumming. Intoxicating waters had been created, and slowly slowly slowly, the great stones by the river of life, on their barges, rose into the night star filled sky, as the elemental folk guided, and reasoned the living stone to its place of rest.

This was all done in accord with the Moon, as that She Who Could be Named ruled the Night, and the Elements. In the morning, as the Night Teachers kneeled before the Rising of the One, the people put away their night magics, and got ready for the day’s.

The priest was to supervise some carvers of stone who had an interest in cats. Something about their company making certain movements of craft and art more … languid.

Life was joy, when it could be. Illness, heartache, and death unavoidable. Floods and wars and Gods&Goddesses throwing lighting bolts in the skys, making arcs of elemental fire leap from pointed tower to pointed tower, writing wisdom in the air.

Issac Newton’s translation of the Emerald Tablet

is true without lying, certain and most true.
That which is below is like that which is above
and that which is above is like that is below
to do the miracles of one only thing
And as all things have been and arose from one by the mediation of one:
so all things have their birth from this one thing by adaptation.

The Sun is its father,
the moon its mother,
the wind hath carried it in its belly,
the earth is its nurse.
The father of all perfection in the whole world is here.
Its force or power is entire if it be converted into earth.

Separate thou the earth from the fire,
the subtle from the gross
sweetly with great industry.
It ascends from the earth to the heaven
and again it descends to the earth
and receives the force of things superior and inferior.
By this means you shall have the glory of the whole world
and thereby all obscurity shall fly from you.

Its force is above all force.
For it vanquishes every subtle thing and penetrates every solid thing.
So was ye world created.
From this are and do come admirable adaptations
where of the means is here in this.

Hence I am called Hermes Trismegist,
having the three parts of the philosophy of the whole world
That which I have said of the operation of the Sun is accomplished and ended.

Overcoming Rovism

A Nation in Need of Self-Healing.

Social Transformation in the Light of Eros

Eros is used here to speak of erotic and sensual love, as a part of a Cross of Love, Eros being on the downward side of the vertical aspect of the Cross. We have lost an Eros-based relationship with Nature. To modern science a tree is a thing made of bits and pieces of this’s and that’s that are also things. We deny to the Natural World the rich interior life, that we have with each other, and which allows for thoughts, emotions, and impulses of the will, to arise in the invisible-within … Soul and Spirit to a wiser generation.

Our relationship with Nature requires an I and Thou approach, where we see Nature’s Truth, not just our own. Every”thing” is inter-connected, and filled with consciousness, whether we deny that or not. Our world is clothed in a Green World, that itself is bathed constantly with light. “In It – the Word – is Life, and the Life is the Light of the World”

Every”thing/being” feels (is conscious of) these embraces, of light, of wind and water, that is the basis of all life. There are no accidents, although the totality seems to be making new stuff up from day to day. The Wild is part of existence.

Our world of human-being folk seems determined to blow itself up. Remember that the Flood was everywhere in ancient times. Mother keeps a clean kitchen in which to perform Her daily Rites of creative Alchemy. She sends many signs and signals, from UFO’s to Crop Circles, topped off with Her rogue-weather – needed to clean up after us. Rivers are not to be tamed, and will run over our walls at Her Will.

Leave us now consider our way of life – the social and political life,

and how well those wild rituals, we call “elections”,

moves with the wisdom of the Heart.

Rovism is basically the one-sided fruit that comes from an intellect unbound by the heart. A lot of natural science finds its dreams there. It is a normal feature of being a human being. We required the intellect to awaken the scientific curiosity, a matter of no little consequence for the evolution of consciousness. The Whole of Our Time, in a Way, is a Rite of Passage for Humanity. Will we get our shit together, or not? The Hopi call this Age: the Day of Purification.

I get dreams in my soul, related to certain particular folk, one of which is/was/might have been: George Washington. I tried to write a poem as if I had been him. Its called: “the George Washington Blues’ http://ipwebdev.com/hermit/gwblues.html

People all over the world face a hard truth: “You can’t always get what you want. But if you try sometime, you find you get what you need.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dfYcQ_r_x8

Most of us have a number of wishes, a lot connected to some version of: “What the fuck happened to my country!?!”. Not just America, by the way. There are aspects of life that are shared by many.

The main reason we feel this way is because some folks want us to feel this way. Politicians have nothing to say but: “the country is screwed, its the other guys fault, and I know just how to fix it”. Major media (for reasons of greed) loves to use Our Airwaves to sell us a similar narrative, by focusing on the sensational. “Breaking News” … what a joke.

Neither the politicians, or the main stream media – a collection of self-interested intellectual Orcs – all these folks bow to wealth and power – are paying mind to “We the Peoples” needs. They want theirs and the rest of us need to work, consume, and send our children off to wars.

A tragedy, perhaps … Consider that for most of human history there was this tendency to pyramidal (top-down) order. What is happening to us is nothing new. As White Rose sez, in the TV show Mr. Robot: “the only coin the rich and powerful value is violence”.

A lot of of lying surrounds us, seeking one principle effect: Nobody has the power (or even the right) to change this natural order of dominance. We win, you lose. Get used to it.

A lot of Artists see the situation differently. For example, in the film “a Bug’s Life, the bullies seem to run things, until people really get the lesson of: There are far far more of us than there are of Them. Still, the “more-of-us” also have to take risks ( … “if you try sometime” … ). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OvcVB6lcYkQ

I wrote some books on American politics and public life. https://thecollectiveimagination.com/citizenship-and-modern-politricks/

These attempted to simplify complexities with pithy sayings, just after the titles (in case you don’t want to read the book): 1) “why play by the rules when the game is already fixed” http://ipwebdev.com/hermit/degeneration.html & 2) “a money debt owed bankers is merely a number …. while what lives in the hearts of a People is a spiritual currency of infinitely greater value” . http://ipwebdev.com/hermit/Rebellion.html

It is possible to look at political events in America and feel horrified, and ashamed. Why ashamed?

The shame is a side-effect of the feeling of impotence. Such shame can take an even darker turn, into hate and violence. Our heart knows we could do more, but we are human, and really can only effect our personal labyrinth-maze-tree of personal life events, with all its branches, and hidden mysteries. If we’ve lived life even a little bit, we start to get it that the world is not a place for big wishes. Small wishes, sure. Be grateful for the little events of daily grace, and the constant unrecognized aid of elemental folks.

The elemental kingdom is invisible to us. For many a forgotten myth, whose truth most aboriginal religions knew well – through direct experience. Faerie anyone?

The ordinary American is the whole ground on which the English-American military-industrial-intelligence complex built its web of lies and control. For the alleged greater good – we are told, which very much tended to reward wealth and power with more wealth and power.

That “ground” of our daily lives is worn down, and getting restless. Think metaphorically/exactly of the huge root/systems underneath the forests and fields. The individual sovereign American is such a “Groot”, a kind of magical power, which can effect what is near at hand. The way this forest works, however, requires heroes and giants, and elfs and gnomes, all finding inter-connectivity in the shared dark. The “shared dark” he sez, the place in us that suffers in silence, and where dreams and wishes and hope are born. The world behind our eyes.

Think, for a moment, of the “first responder”, who at risk of life runs toward the danger, by their own choice. In our own personal lives, what calls for us to be able to respond? Truth to tell, we get to decide, and there is no Right Way, only the puzzle-riddle right in front of us. Our choice is asked for by the Mystery, a dilemma that only we can resolve – otherwise why would we be standing there.?

Discard the songs of politicians, rooted in their vanities and ambitions. Do you get up in the morning and take care of where your heart, and mind, and hands can reach? When you can. When you try.

Leave the big picture to the big picture folk, known in ancient times as Gods&Goddesses. We are co-artists in our own lives, and we too get to paint outside the lines.

… think globally, act locally, right? Just watch out for what goes around comes around.

Still, does a Nation or a People need love for just who and what they really are? Next, some ideas which appear in a book I wrote: “On the Nature of Public Life”. http://ipwebdev.com/hermit/plife.html
Americans are becoming the People of Peoples. We are, due to this, the progeny of all other cultures. The world has “flows” of history, rivers of time&change – and what is worst of all (for some) a Divinely Created Way. America – as a People and a Nation, in this context, is a raging hormonal adolescent – having then no original culture (never happened on Mother Earth before – so this is a very big responsibility) and the best we can do is eat what is brought to our cultural shores.

Eat. Take in as nutrition. Metabolize. Use the collective energy to create what was never before.

The Mystery of the Americas are related to the Will. To elemental Fire. The wave of European Western Civilization crashed upon our shores, and gave up the ghost (literally), which still lingers when we do not understand musical culture. Old World has to die for New World to be born. Something that will take – at least – a millennium. How many different ways of dancing, intoxicated or not, take place in America, on any given Saturday Night?

But we are a bit too culturally schizophrenic in ourselves, yet. Not absorbing properly the Way of the Aboriginal Peoples already here, we instinctively (instead of consciously) try to remain tribal. Each identification we acquire, such as black, french, woman, and aged, requires we find others, for few of us alone survive long in life. The bed rock remains: all of us are individual human beings, living the tale of our own peculiar life.

All who come here are naturally value oriented, and due to strong differences we tend to group together and act like tribes. Being in a tribe is in the social/spiritual/geographical dna of the Americas. What we need is a Native American as president. Imagine that, to see how far we have yet to go.

People, during election cycles, end up with everyone fighting everyone else. Politicians seek to bring out the worst in us, and for their own benefit, as members of the tribe Rich&Powerful.

Rovism is about dividing us against each other, and in hiding the truth – relentlessly. For the Spirit here, which silently waits, wishes for us to make new tribes. Never before tribes.

The Forest of Humanity, in the Americas, has deep&dark roots. Not all of them are good, as evidenced by mothers fleeing. Still, there is the music. No one, not even the devil, can stop the music, the drumming and the dancing. In fact, that is the “where” in our own soul which knows something of the devil should live inside us as well. In point of spiritual fact, the Americas are where the Gates of Hades are remembered, not always fondly … just keep in mind that’s where the Son went on a Saturday, in between his dying and His resurrection.

Want to screw with Rovism. Have some parties and invite your strange-other neighbors. Only the sovereign American citizen can heal the divisions the dark has laid upon us like a curse. Throw a dance, do some drumming, break some bread together.

Face it folks – and this is true elsewhere – social healing is up to us. Understand spiritually the Whole (think globally), and be a first responder (act locally), healing what is seen as need. “See, do”*

*Pithy saying from an Angel, as reported on the original Ark, by Catherine MacCoun, the author of “On Becoming an Alchemist: a guide for the modern magician” (a book self-described by the author as a marriage of Christian and Tibetan Alchemy).

Keep in mind, however hard it is to take, Trump&Company are human beings, with their own destiny. About that I wrote this: https://thecollectiveimagination.com/why-the-trump-voter-is-the-single-most-crucial-political-phenomena-of-our-time/

ROVISM

an introduction

It is an accurate name, for something not very nice. Trump happens because of him, for this outrageous genius – Karl Rove – changed the whole nature of modern politics. We need to know who to give credit to, for our current situation. We also need to know what he did and how he did it, if we want healing

Rovism is a kind of inverted buddhism, … the absence of compassion for other living beings. Numbers are more important than hearts.

History may or may not mark him, but if we are wanting to fix something in America, we need to understand the structure, the system he put in place. The movies disregard his role, both in the movie “W” – about Bush – by Oliver Stone, and the movie “Vice” about Dick Chaney, written and directed by Adam McKay. Rove was treated like a piece of furniture in both, and no one has seemed to notice how much influence such a mind could have, when working with ambitious men who did not appreciate the true nature of his far too clever intellect.

Karl Rove was born on December 25th, 1950. In accord with the season (perhaps) his birth name was: Karl Christian Rove. He was nurtured into the dark side – “dirty tricks” – of Republican politics by no less a master than: Lee Atwater.

Karl described himself in high school this way: “I was the complete nerd. I had the briefcase. I had the pocket protector. I wore Hush Puppies when they were not cool. I was the thin, scrawny little guy. I was definitely uncool

[facts and quote from Wikipedia]

.

When George W. Bush ran for Governor of Texas, it was because Rove had sought him out and talked him into it. Rove got him elected to two terms as governor, and two terms as president. Something more that luck is involved here.

The whole art of war consists in a well-reasoned and extremely circumspect defensive, followed by rapid and audacious attack.” Rove campaign memo from the early years in Texas.

Rove is the greatest political mind of his generation and probably of any generation. He not only is a breathtakingly smart strategist but also a clever tactician. He knows history, understands the moods of the public, and is a visionary on matters of public policy. But he is not a magician.” Fred Barnes, conservative commentator, editor The Weekly Standard.

He [Rove] could carve up constituencies with the best of them, and divide the country as easily as columns on a spreadsheet — and with no more thought” diarist “Hunter” DailyKos Aug.2007.

I watched an interview with an intern, who worked with Rove in the White House, and she described him as able to pull a spreadsheet of numbers from a printer, read it, and then make a call to local precincts – which were where the numbers came from – giving exact instructions to be carried out by his word alone.

I’m looking at 68 polls a week. You may be looking at four or five public polls a week that talk about attitudes nationally, but that do not impact the outcome –” Karl Rove in a radio interview late October 2006. “You may end up with a different math, but you’re entitled to your math. I’m entitled to the math.

Keep in mind that data-mining was already an art in service to the wheels of commerce. Then imagine Rove with access to the spending habits, and reading habits, and television habits of all potential voters, with detailed numbers at the level of neighborhoods.

President Bush’s powerful adviser is one part spreadsheet-carrying, vote-counting political wonk, and one part no-holds-barred, brass-knuckled political operative” Dan Froomkin.

Rove’s method is to plot out elaborate strategies well in advance of the campaign, and stick to them vigilantly. John Deardourff, Rove’s media consultant for races in Texas and Alabama, says, ‘This rap Bush has of never changing his mind and never admitting a mistake-that’s Karl! That’s where it comes from.’ It is a tribute to Rove’s strategic skill that he is so often right.” Joshua Green Atlantic Monthly 2007.

Sound like Trump’s playbook, yes?

Here’s Rove on the use of power …

That’s not the way the world really works anymore,” he continued. ”We’re an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you’re studying that reality — judiciously, as you will — we’ll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that’s how things will sort out. We’re history’s actors . . . and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do Senior white house official, assumed by everyone to have been Karl Rove, summer 2002.

Then there is infamous Trump base, … Rove set up a system …

Craig Unger*, In an interview with Amy Goodman, mid-November 2007: Well, LeHay** is one of the founders of the Council for National Policy. Now, this is a not-very-well-known group, but it’s an umbrella group that oversees dozens of Christian Right groups, like Focus on the Family, which is James Dobson’s group. The Moral Majority was part of it, and so on. And within it was a much smaller group called the Arlington Group, of about fifty religious leaders. Now, they were in regular contact with Karl Rove. And what you have in the Christian Right is as many as 80 million adult evangelicals. You have about 200,000 pastors, and they operate almost as precinct captains did in the labor unions for the Democratic Party. So this is a vast populist movement that operates as part of the Christian Republican Party, and they have regular contact with the White House. [emphasis added]

[*author of: The Fall of the House of Bush: The Untold Story of How a Band of True Believers Seized the Executive Branch, Started the Iraq War, and Still Imperils America’s Future. **one of the authors of the Left Behind series of novels on Armageddon.]

In Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings trilogy, he writes of an adviser to a King and gives him the name “Wormtongue”. Rove, an unnoticed cold heart, with a clever mind, had effects on others only few would notice.

Mr. Greenspan described his own emotional journey in dealing with Mr. Bush, from an initial elation about the return of his old friends from the Ford White House – including Mr. Cheney and Donald H. Rumsfeld, secretary of defense – to astonishment and then disappointment at how much they had changed.” New York Times book review describing Alan Greenspan’s (former chairman of the Federal Reserve) book: The Age of Turbulence: Adventures in a New World …much to my disappointment, economic policy making in the Bush administration remained firmly in the hands of the White House staff.” He was clearly referring to the political team led by Karl Rove at the White House. Mr. Rove was a neighbor of Mr. Greenspan in a leafy enclave near the Potomac River, but the two men almost never had a conversation.” [emphasis added]

Around the time of the movie the Matrix, which introduced us to the fictional synthetic intelligence as master programmer: the Architect … this observation was made

Dubbed the “architect” and “Bush’s brain”, Rove plotted the rise of George W Bush and departed the White House after the disastrous 2006 mid-term elections. Successful punditry is a combination of real political experience, intellectual nimbleness, a provocative turn of phrase and a coherent point of view. Rove, a Fox News commentator and contributor to Newsweek and the Wall Street Journal, has all these qualities.

Rove isn’t perfect, and was not above cheating if there was a way not to get caught. I recall him on Fox News, as the 2006 bi-election was clearly headed to give the House to the Democrats, insisting over and over again that the numbers would be different than they actually were. He was wrong.

Why? Because he is blind to real people’s feelings – no empathy. His numbers ran aground on changes of heart that only appear in the voting booth, at the last moment. Still …

Democrats may protest that they would rather see him in jail than on their television screens but they can’t help noting what he says. Whether outlining what the Democrats should do or outlining John McCain’s rocky path to victory (and McCain has followed his advice almost to the letter), Rove’s take is important and often surprising. Expect the name Rove to come up frequently on the campaign trail – and in coverage of it.” Comments in the British newspaper The Telegraph, who ranked Rove (since leaving the White House) as the number one (of the top 50) pundits in U.S. Politics, Friday, May 2nd, 2008.

Then there is something he instituted all the way back in Texas, and for which most who know of this, don’t realize the genius in it: the infamous Talking Points.

They changed daily as needed. From Rove’s offices there would come the themes of the day, and these were sent to Fox News, to all the conservative radio hosts, and even smaller television stations. Those who received these talking points realized the effect of one story repeated over and over again everywhere. The truth didn’t matter at all. Just repetitions of vague platitudes and wild assertions, all helping folk find that source of news that fits their already existing biases.

Rush Limbaugh anyone?

Rove created a number-savvy mechanical process that eats the truth, and bends every event and tragedy into a political question. That’s Rovism: Truth’s irrelvant. Change the narrative everyday (a constant stream of red meat for the always looking for the sensational major media).

Trump’s political luck was born in Rovism, and Trump’s base had been indoctrinated in the Way of it for years.

Rove is someone people are inclined to lean upon, given his advice on campaign matters is so acute. He has come. He has taught and pioneered a garden of liars, all feasting on fake news, fake personalities, and vague promises. When Obama choose to not punish BushII&company for lying us into two disastrous wars (one of which just became the longest war in our history), weeds and dangerous seed of Rovism remained in place, which eventually delivered the first over-ripe&decaying fruit: Donald Trump.

The garden of democracy is in need of new blood. Will we be civil? That tale is yet to tell itself.

{For a dangerous excursion into shamanistic territories, here is a link to “Outrageous Genius”, where I out Rove as the incarnation of the Ice-Geometry-near Divinity Ahriman, in the terminology of Rudolf Steiner’s Spiritual Science. Abstract Intellectual Thinking – without the heart’s warmth&compassion asserted inwardly to moderate it – leads to folly. http://ipwebdev.com/hermit/genius.html }
