The Madness of King Trump.
It would be nice – for some at any rate – to blame world conditions on America, and on the current occupant of the White House.
Such a view, while perhaps emotionally satisfying, will not help anyone find their Way through the dire and dangerous waters we all must sail, during the Birth of the Third Millennium.
Trump is not the only “Nero” loose in the world – fiddling and game playing from seats of earthly power. Meanwhile, the obvious signs of the times suggest Western Civilization is ending, and the Nero-folk cling to their power, in part because … well that’s the question isn’t it.
Aspects of that power requires that the people they rule/serve agree – that is, when oppressed peoples are not burning down the house … this reveals a kind of passive aggressive consent.
Just to make this less abstract. American has Trump. Russian has Putin. China has Xi Jinking. North Korea has Kim Jong-un. Iran has Ali Khamenei. Turkey has Erdogan. A long list of power hungry professional liars, that goes on and on and on.
Then there are the multi-national corporations, and their successfully anonymous owners in the world of high finance.
Now … while a dominant religion of our time is scientific materialism (all is matter, there is no spirit), most places in the world have a deep religious history, such that leaders tend to have to pretend to follow their cultural treasures.
I use the word treasures, because clearly there is rich heritage everywhere in the world. At the same time, there is a spiritual core to modern events, that if understood rightly may enable the folk at the allegedly social-bottom to have an expected influence.
By the way, and I don’t mean modern religions, but rather the much more ancient Earth-religions, that recognizes spirits of the household, of the weather, of the fertility of the earth, and better yet, of the futility of seeking power over others.
Everywhere the oldest stories notice the folly that arises when one human being seeks to dominate another. Many of us know the tale of “the Emperor’s New Clothes”. Even the anonymous financiers with their billion dollar yachts, dozens of homes, private armies, and personal foreign policies … all live delusional lives, finding they are never satisfied – always hungry for more.
They are moral children and should be pitied.
I cannot speak for the deeps of most of the world’s ancient Earth-religions, but given that I am a “white-privileged, Christian, son of Montana, American citizen, shaman, and professional heretic”, I have been helped to discover/speaking to/of the hidden depths of Christianity for over two decades now.
Next I will reference that of those works, which might help folk see the light at the end of the tunnel of modern political madness.
First, in my most recent book: “The Art of God – an actual theory of Everything”, I point out that the world is not about religions, philosophies, ruler-ship, … the world is about the individual human beings, the children of the Divine Mystery, who in Christianity are invited to imagine that the prodigal child can return home to a feast.

Lest ye become again as little children, believe in magic, and dance with fairies, you cannot return to the kingdom of heaven that lives inside you.

In my first book: “the Way of the Fool – the conscious development of our human character, and the future* of Christianity – both to be born of the natural union of Faith and Gnosis.” I write of Moral Grace, Freedom, and, Love, as teachings that find us right in the circle and trials of our individual biography. We don’t need to go on retreat in the mountains or the desert, with initiates, gurus, and masters, because our life – itself – is the best teacher by far.

Two books: the Book of Life; and, the Book of the Own Soul. They go together, for we ride the seas of outer world challenges, at the same time as we encounter the inner invisible storms of doubt and despair.
Think globally (understand what the whole is up to), and act locally (each of us has possibilities within the reach of our own will). Will the good. Think with the heart. And trust the overly dramatic hysterical drama on the News-Stuff to the big-picture folk.
She has the whole world in His Hands,
… which from an evolving “Christian” point of view leads to my most important essay: “Saving the Catholic (universal&Christian) Religion from the failing institutional Roman Church … through deepening our understanding of the Third Fatima Prophecy.”

“ … we saw an Angel with a flaming sword in his left hand; flashing, it gave out flames that looked as though they would set the world on fire; but they died out in contact with the splendor that Our Lady radiated towards him from her right hand: pointing to the earth with his right hand, the Angel cried out in a loud voice: ‘Penance, Penance, Penance!’. …
It goes on, describing Catholic religious leaders climbing a hill toward a cross, but first having to go through a city half in ruins …
The birth of the Third Millennium requires a world on fire, with karma, moral choices, confusion, … all of it aspects of the “city half in ruins”, … what I’ve been calling the dying and becoming of Western Civilization.
It is possible to reform the “Church”, but in a way where the leadership is ignored, and the laity is in charge – i.e. from the bottom up. In essence, folk who practice the religion can have great effect, but only if they practice (see the Sermon on the Mount, the bits about judge not; pray in secret; as well as what happens if you build your spiritual – inner – house on rock instead of sand).
