comedy of fools

As a white-privileged, Christian, son of Montana, American citizen, shaman, and professional heretic, it has been my misfortune to commune-with various “shades”, … specters that are kin to the actual spirit that held that historical name, for which there is also a social-construct of recollection. So if I speak next of the shades of George Washington, and Clara Barton, I do not mean their present incarnation, but rather the ghost of public memory we have. Admiration, perhaps. Trust, maybe.

In the epoch of cancelization, we’ve become so adept at rewriting history, we have forgotten that real people lived those lives, and none of us have walked in their shoes … unless somehow those Fae spirits are incarnate now, strangers among us as it were.

This communion-with mostly takes place at the level of the heart, of feeling. We/they watched in horror the recent poorly crafted comedy, the first presidential debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden. For the shades, it is very hard to see something – you gave your life to – fall into complete chaos and disaster.

Both candidates are liars. Trump is just a vain used car salesman, who believes his own B.S. Biden is a democrat party operative, seeming playing by the rules, while offering nothing but promises. No wisdom, just ego based fake-speech, meant to create the pretense of a mind and a heart.

Consider all the time both combatants spent with their handlers, getting prepped with approaches that hit all the cords, such as which “words&phrases” were invented by pollsters/advisers, based on the findings of focus groups.

The Fox newscaster present was out of his depth before ever showing up on that stage. Both ego’s walked all over him, and he no doubt was made impotent by the pre-debate agreements that left him powerless to turn off a raving speaker’s mike.

Both parties serve the same masters. Both tell the same tale, …. everything wrong with the world is the fault of the other guy, and I know how to fix it. Meanwhile, let us not mention the elephant in the room, the military-industrial-intelligence-finance cabal.

There is an organic/living aspect to social-political life. If we studied the last century of America politics, certain phenomena emerge, a main one of which is that the two parties stopped taking care of the American people a long time ago. Over a long term, such a situation becomes unworkable. Nothing gets fixed, and the rich&powerful – lacking real discipline – keep taking and taking and taking, imagining that sheep will stay sheep.

Except, we are not sheep. We are just too busy raising the children and creating the wealth to mess with the swamp as well. In movies about Pearl Harbor, there is a scene where the Japanese Admiral – Yamamoto – is asked by a staff person why he is not celebrating the successful attack. His reply: I’m afraid we have woken up a sleeping dragon”.

That debate is just the open wound of a political-intellectual life so addicted to lies, these “leaders” believe their activities have value. Both parties lie. That’s their “business” model.

My visiting shades felt ashamed, … and enraged. The anger most of us get, but the “shame” part is more subtle. Its root is that sense that we all should have: Have I done enough? Did I do enough? Did I risk enough?

“Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient Causes; and accordingly all Experience hath shewn, that Mankind are more disposed to suffer, while Evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long Train of Abuses and Usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object, evinces a Design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their Right, it is their Duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future Security”

“And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm Reliance on the Protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our fortunes, and our sacred Honor.”

The arriving social chaos is a gift from Divine Providence. Whether we see a hoax, or a truth, in the pandemic, the Pandemonium is the gift of the Mother. An opportunity. As said by Littlefinger (and then repeated by the three-eyed raven) in Game of Thrones: Chaos is a ladder. A tool to apply when needing to build something new.
